WEAVER is a young three-piece piano rock band.

In 2004, the members first met each other while attending Kobe High School, one of the best pre-university schools in Hyogo Prefecture, and formed WEAVER as a four-piece band.

In 2007, when they graduated from high school, Okuno and Kawabe went on to attend university, but while Sugimoto considered attending art school, he decided that he wanted to make his living through his band, so he concentrated all his efforts on the band rather than going to college.

At the end of the same year, the band was reformed with its current members: Sugimoto Yuji (Vocal & Piano), Okuno Shota (Bass), and Kawabe Toru (Drums). "WEAVER" began performing as a piano rock band, primarily in the live house Kobe VARIT.

In October of 2009, they released their first download single, "Hakuchoumu," for their major debut.
Following "Hakuchoumu," they released their second download single, "Wraith," and their third download single, "Tokidoki Sekai" all in a row, and made it into the top three downloads on the download site "recochoku."
After that, their first album, "Tapestry," earned them their first Oricon ranking - number 19 in the Oricon weekly album chart.

In April of 2010, they moved to Tokyo in order to become more active as a band.

In June, Kameda Seiji joined them as sound producer of their single "Hard to say I love you ~Iidasenakute~," which was their first packaged single, and was used as the theme song for Fuji TV's drama series "Sunao ni Narenakute." Their most recent download single, "Bokura no eien ~Nando umarekawatte mo, te o tsunagitai dake no ai dakara~," was chosen for au's "LISMO!" commercials, and as the theme song for the movie "Love Come."
Their latest album, which includes these two singles, has already been widely talked about; it was released in two parts: "Shinsekai Souzouki (New World Creation Chronicle) - First Half" on August 25th, and "Shinsekai Souzouki - Second Half" on September 29th.

Kawabe is currently a student at Kwansei Gakuin University (majoring in literature / philosophy), and comes home from Tokyo twice a week to attend school. Okuno is enrolled as a student in the electronic engineering department of Osaka University, but is taking a break from his studies to continue his work with the band.

WEAVER's songs have a unique melody line, and the lyrics show a "lonely but strong" worldview. Their current project also includes Kameda Seiji as sound producer, and together they are creating a new world of music.
